The UK COP26 leadership team is predominantly male and is not transparent about positions held. Equal representation is vital for the team, the success of the conference and the planet.
Solution
Launched campaign SHE Changes Climate to harness the power of women around the world to produce a letter to UK Government signed by 400 leading academics, scientists, politicians, campaigners, lawyers, tech leaders and celebrities, calling for 50:50 representation on the leadership team for COP26.
Result
Achieved media coverage in multiple top-tier publications, including BBC Newsnight, Reuters, Financial Times, BBC, Radio 4 Woman’s Hour, The Sun, Euronews and Marie Claire with a total readership of over 900 million.
Impact
Forced government to respond resulting in a meeting with President of COP26, Alok Sharma MP. There were 35 pieces of coverage with 7.76 million estimated views and 812 shares on social media.
