We’ve moved!
Welcome to Greenhouse HQ

Greenhouse sustainable office 01

2018 has been a positive year of growth for Greenhouse: we have delivered more than 30 change-making campaigns, won six industry awards, grown our team from 12 to 18 people, and finally, we have moved to a new sustainable office in Bristol.

It’s important to us that we don’t just talk the talk, so we invested a lot of time finding and designing the perfect ‘greenhouse’ to house our growing team. Join us on a virtual tour of our new Bristol headquarters and find out more about how we created a sustainable workplace.

Limiting our impact

We chose an old office that needed refurbishment and set ourselves the challenge to transform the space in an environmentally responsible way.

The first priority was to switch all lighting to LED with in-built sensors and to change to renewable energy supplier Good Energy. We then painted our office with Little Greene Paint Company eco-paints to avoid the use of chemicals.

Wherever we could, we recycled old furniture. We were lucky to be able to purchase a consignment of wood flooring that was surplus to requirement on another job and that would otherwise have gone to waste. We also purchased second hand desks from one of our clients, along with screens which we re-covered.

Our desk chairs come from Humanscale, a company that designs and makes office equipment using fewer parts and recyclable materials but also minimises the impact across their whole supply chain.

The tables in our new meeting rooms and the breakfast bar in our coffee area were designed by Touch Design Group and are made of 100% FSC-certified oak.

The fabric that covers our seats has been sourced from Camira, a company that is pioneering sustainable textiles through environmental product design, supply chain integrity, resource efficiency, people development and CSR.

Creating a sustainable working environment

We love the word biophilia – and we know from our work with the World Green Buildings Council how much green plants contribute to the workspace. To clean the air and to enhance wellbeing, we have invested in desktop potted plants as well as beautiful ferns and yuccas.

Continuing the wellbeing theme, we encourage staff to cycle to work with the Cycle to Work scheme and we run a weekly yoga session in our office for staff.
