The climate clock is ticking:
bring on the Disruptors
Greenhouse
Today sees the launch of a new report – Secrets of the Disruptors – which shares the stories of inspirational, forward thinking entrepreneurs who are disrupting traditional markets in the pursuit of a greener, fairer and more sustainable economy.
Developed in partnership with BusinessGreen, the report explores what it takes to be a disruptor and examines the significant impact that these pioneering businesses are having in driving action on climate change and accelerating the transition towards a net zero carbon economy.
The stark warnings issued by the IPCC last week thrust climate change firmly back into the public and corporate consciousness. However, the message was clear: awareness is no longer enough. Actions make history and – in this case – will ensure we have a future.
So where can we turn for leadership and direction on this most critical of issues? And who will be brave enough to turn their back on ‘business as usual’ and take the bold action required to keep global warming below 1.5°C.
Enter, the disruptors.
From food and finance to energy and transport, the Secrets of the Disruptors report demonstrates how radical entrepreneurs and organisations are already shaking up entire markets.
Some are small innovative pioneers using new technologies, such as AI and automation, to revolutionise everything from the way we store energy to how we use food waste. Others are large, established organisations which recognise the urgent need for change and are prepared to challenge the status quo.
What they all share is a sense of purpose and a clear mission.
The report demonstrates that collectively we have the creativity, the ingenuity and the power to create a net zero carbon economy. What we need now is swift action and policy frameworks to support the innovators and the disruptors, those that have the ideas, technologies, products and services offering solutions to the significant challenges we face.
Greenhouse PR was established with a single-minded belief in the power of PR to drive positive social and environmental change. Our mission stems from a deep-rooted commitment to address climate change and its impact on the world’s poorest people.
Over the last 10 years, we’ve been fortunate to work with many disruptors and pioneers – those pushing the boundaries of what’s possible – who, by their very nature, see a problem as a catalyst for positive change.
By using effective communications to help businesses, entrepreneurs and NGOs to raise awareness of new business models and technologies, we can challenge policymakers, investors, partners and consumers to drive the change we so urgently need.
In publishing this report with BusinessGreen, we aspire to inspire. We want to encourage greater innovation, knowledge transfer and collaboration across all markets. Help us to spread the word. Download the report today and share it among your networks.
The window of opportunity to address climate change remains open – but not for long. That’s why, now more than ever, we need established models to be questioned, rulebooks to be rewritten and ‘the way it has always been done’ to become the way it used to be done.
