Farm Wilder to reverse wildlife decline and combat climate breakdown
Greenhouse
This month, Greenhouse supported the launch of Farm Wilder, a new wildlife-friendly social enterprise working to reverse the rapid declines in wildlife and combat climate breakdown.
Hedgehogs, tree sparrows and turtle doves were once common in the UK but have all declined by over 90%. Our wildlife is critically threatened and is in desperate need of human support. Enter Farm Wilder, a new CIC that selects and labels produce from farms that nurture endangered species and maximise biodiversity.
The new range includes Fritillary Butterfly Beef, Cuckoo Beef and Cuckoo Lamb. It is the UK’s first ever range of foods that clearly labels the products after the rare animals that the farmers protect, providing shoppers with the ability to choose sustainable, wildlife-friendly products. The range is now available to buy online from Bristol-based ethical retailer, Fresh Range.
Tim Martin, founder of Farm Wilder commented: “When you buy food from a supermarket you have very little information about what sort of farm that food has come from. A lot of food has been intensively produced in a way that kills wildlife and threatens our future through climate change. Farm Wilder food has been sustainably producedand our beautiful labels inform shoppersabout the endangered wildlife our farmers are actively helping to recover.”
We advocate eating less meat but when you do buy meat, support a local farmer that produces it in a way that actively supports wildlife & minimises #GHGemissions ? #FarmWilder works with farms that are doing just that https://t.co/o2XbEcIqyD pic.twitter.com/khQv9qduGg

Supporting sustainable farmers who are working with nature, rather than against it, is one of the best ways to combat the ecological crisis. Sustainable farming restores wildlife habitats, promotes healthy soil, gives us clean air and provides food security.
Launching Farm Wilder
To support the launch of Farm Wilder, Greenhouse developed compelling media materials, designed stand-out social media assets and a content plan, liaised with partners to deliver the products and secured high quality media and influencer coverage.
The coverage spans regional TV, print, online and social media, including BBC South West, ITV West Country, Bristol Post, Bristol 24/7 and Western Morning News, among others.
Tim Martin said: “Working with Greenhouse has been perfect for this project – they really know the worlds of food and sustainability, and they’ve done a great job putting the two together for the Farm Wilder launch. They’ve been flexible about delivering the work on a relatively modest budget, and I’ve really appreciated all their energy, enthusiasm and creativity.”
Greenhouse has also been supporting the Nature Friendly Farming Network to move nature-friendly farming into the mainstream. We launched the organisation at the Oxford Real Farming Conference, supported Chris Packham’s Bioblitz tour and the recent parliamentary lobby events.
